Kids Who Care

CSCD@RU supports education of the whole child. Children are born with the capacity for empathy and fairness, and it is through programs such as A Partnership for Advancing Character Education through Service-Learning (PACES), that CSCD@RU assists schools to develop service-learning, one of the most useful school programs for helping children experience the transformational power of moral action.

Research shows that effective character and social development programs positively shape pro-social behaviors and attitudes, increase problem solving skills and academic achievement, as well as having an impact on the prevention of problems such as aggressive behavior, drug use and precocious sexual activity.
