Code of Student Conduct
The purpose of the Code of Student Conduct project is to develop resources to assist school districts in complying with N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.1 and to productively use these regulations as a vantage point for making significant adjustments to programs and procedures that promote positive social development and school climate.
The first phase of the Code of Student Conduct project worked with three school district demonstration sites in order to study the process each one used to come into compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.1. The Cherry Hill, Highland Park and Montvale school districts participated in the project and produced a wealth of useful documents accessible below. Regional workshops were held in November and December 2008 to showcase the results of this demonstration effort.
The second phase of the project includes regional workshops that will be held in March/April 2009 to give school districts an opportunity for hands-on revisions of their codes of student conduct. This will be followed by the posting of an on-line tutorial to support the revision process that will be available by early fall 2009.
